Street Designs
Here at oneROOF Youth Services we believe in pushing past the basic emergency supports (i.e. food hampers, shelter services, etc), to provide our youth with opportunities to grow and better themselves. We want to better equipped our youth with the skills and confidence to break out of the cycle of homelessness and into success. One of the ways we do this is through our programming.
Street Designs is a social enterprise opportunity afforded to youth within our shelter and SEE program, giving them access to silkscreening, bookbinding, and button making equipment. Youth are trained on the equipment and encouraged to be as creative as possible in their designs and art work.
The youth working in Streets Designs can create custom clothing, bags, books, and buttons; often silkscreening custom shirts for the local baseball teams and even the Waterloo police department.
